When COVID-19 first hit Myanmar, AW Foundation rallied its partners, combining our strengths and expertise to build the Wai Bar Gi National Infectious Disease Centre.

Completed on September 2022, the medical center has a capacity of 110 patient beds and serves as a key research facility for better understanding infectious diseases and improving the healthcare system in Myanmar.
For years before the pandemic, AW Foundation had provided assistance to communities in rural villages within the Yangon Region to improve optical health, by providing free eye check-ups and transporting patients to Yangon to receive treatment.
